2 Months Old

Cole is now 2 months old!  I’ve posted some new pictures on my flickr site…you can get there by the link on the right of this page.  He is getting bigger and cuter everyday.  Here is a picture of him in his Baby Gap hat and sweatshirt and his OshKosh jeans and socks.

You know you're an overtired mom when...

you accidently wash the remote control.  In my afternoon cleaning spree (the few minutes I had while Cole was sleeping) I decided to do some laundry.  I washed some towels and blankets.  One of the blankets I washed is one that I had used on the couch.  All afternoon I searched and searched for the remote.  It wasn’t until Brian came home and I was going through what I did after last using the remote that it became clear.  He asked me what laundry I did…I thought it was a strange question until it dawned on me, I washed our remote control!  Right now it is drying out and is showing signs of life.  If we can’t get it working properly again we’ll have to call Comcast and have them send us another, at an additional charge of course.

Voting for Change

Brian, Cole and I took advantage of the the beautiful weather here in Medford and walked to our polling place (about a 10 minute walk) to vote.  There were no lines to deal with as we went late morning and avoided the crowds.  It felt really good to be taking part in such a historic election.  Go Obama!

Unhappy Halloween

We dressed Cole up as a lion for Halloween.  We didn’t go trick or treating but wanted to get a picture of his first Halloween.  Well, he wasn’t a fan of being dressed up and started to cry as soon as we put the costume on.  We got a quick picture before he really got upset.  Hopefully next year is a little better :)

1st Smiles

Cole is over a month old now and is starting to smile, coo, and laugh (sort of).  It has been fun to see him responding to our facial expressions and beginning his first interactions.  Here are some pictures I took while Cole was hanging out in his swing last week.

As he is starting to vocalize now, Brian has taken the opportunity to help him practice his sounds.  I captured one of these sessions on Friday.

It's never too early to become a Red Sox Fan

Much to my father-in-law’s dismay, Cole is a Red Sox fan.  Besides the fact that there is no way that I could deal with my son being a Yankees fan, he wouldn’t survive life in and around Boston as anything other than a Sox fan.  Here is a picture of him watching game 6 of the ALCS in his “Wally the Green Monster” onesie.  They won that game…I wonder, if he wore this for game 7 do you think they would be playing in the wor ld series tonight?

Cole's First Play date

Cole had his first play date a few weeks ago.  Owen is my friend Kelly’s 3 month old son.  It was really fun to have a friend pregnant at the same time and Kelly was awesome about sharing her experiences during pregnancy.  For a while these play dates will basically be fun times for the moms.  I look forward to our boys really playing and becoming friends over the years.  I know how nice it was growing up having friends whose moms were my mom’s friends.  Our mom’s would get together for tea and we would play.

Here is a picture of Cole and Owen. We had to take the picture quickly as Cole can’t really sit on his own.  It was really quite comical trying to position two babies who really weren’t very interested in each other.  Well, Owen was at least looking at Cole. Hopefully by the next one, Cole will be a little bit more engaged.

A new name

I’ve been lax about my blogging and I apologize to those of you who have been following me.  Brian and I were talking about something the other day and he said I should blog about it.  I agreed and said that there are too many things I want to blog about, but there are two reasons why it hasn’t happened, 1. I have yet to download the pictures off my camera and 2. I haven’t had a lot of spare time as Cole has been increasingly fussy lately.  I am hoping to write a few new blog posts in the next couple of days.

In the mean time I need to think of a new name for this blog as I’m no longer pregnant.  I welcome any suggestions.  Also, if you’re interested, check out my friend Sarah’s blog  She is blogging about her adventures in Italy where she is living in Rome and taking Italian classes for the next 5 weeks.  Sarah is very wity and a great writer.  You’ll definitely enjoy!

Here is a picture of Cole almost smiling.  This was taken last week when we were visiting my family in Griswold for a few days.

We like naps

Here are some fun pictures of Brian, Cole, Greta, and me napping.  I’ve never been one to take naps, but with him being up every 2-3 hours at night, naps are now my friend.

Cole's first 2 weeks

Cole is now almost 3 weeks old.  Things have been tough and we are very tired most days, but Brian and I are loving being parents.  Brian has now gone back to work and Cole and I are surviving the days without him.  We are very happy when he comes home :)

We have been very lucky to have lots of visitors over the last few weeks.  Here are some pictures of Cole with family and friends.
